So, heading to Maui in the morning. Here are my plans boiled down into six things I hope to say in the week we're there:

Gee, that's weird.
Whoa, that's shiny.
Look at all the rocks!
Mmm, that's some tasty shave ice.
Is that guitar ever slack-keyed.
Ha ha! That coconut totally fell out of a tree.

Plus one that's just inevitable:

Wait for me!

And something about whales.

If you have not made a specific request for something (so, if you're anyone other than Michelle or Kari), you're probably not getting anything brought back for you. But maybe a postcard.

Macadamia nuts are not substantially cheaper in Hawaii than they are at your local retailer. Tropical fruit is not cheaper than it is at Loblaws or Superstore. But if I find a hat that looks like a pineapple, well, I'll get that of course.

Happy Winterlude, Ottawa. See you soon but briefly, Vancouver and Calgary.

P.S. We don't have Internet at our condo, so this'll be it, communication-wise, till around the 16th.
